A great car park very close to the beautiful and very interesting town centre. Very quiet overnight with free parking on the road nearby come 8am. Some of the architecture is amazing, including the Devonshire Dome, once the world’s largest unsupported dome (still the largest in Europe!), plus the divine Opera House to name but two.

Nice quiet official council parking spaces later on at night, depending on visitor to the Pavilion and swimming pool. Might have difficulty finding a spot even after 6pm, till visitors leave. Good for long motor homes and camper vans on the right has you go in lower car park. There is a a grass area for overhanging rears. It’s flat and level further you go down. You leave before 8a.m and park on the main road or pay to stay. We tried sleeping on there it free, but we moved back here, after having our van wing mirror damage.

great place to stay overnight, blue badge holders can park for free in times where a ticket is needed (between 8am and 6pm) quiet at night and gets busy around 7ish

Quite night will stay today and go for bike rides

Arrived around 7pm and was quite busy but was empty by 9pm. Quiet night. It’s free between 6pm and 8am.

Restful night, felt very safe thanks to CCTV. Place got busy in the morning. The park is lovely and through it you can easily access the town. Perfect for dogs as they are allowed off leash in the park. I bought a 4h ticket, but then did want to stay longer, so I asked the super friendly control officer whether I could „upgrade“ my stay, and that was possible, which was very kind!

Stayed here last night, as stated free 6pm to 8am. An evening at the theatre, followed by a very nice quiet night, solid sleep. Car park emptied by 10.30pm, first arrivals at 06.30 walking their dogs in the park. Our 6.5 m parked at the lower end opposite the higher car park with our tail end overhanging the grass area. Not suitable for vans 7m or more.

We stayed one night here (25/2/2024) and couldn't fault it. Ideal location for exploring the lovely town of Buxton. we paid £5.60 which gives you 10 hours up until 6pm, after which it's free until 8am (set your alarm!) Very peaceful night with just a bit of road noise from 7am. As others have said, these are standard sized car park spaces. Fine for our campervan, but nothing any bigger.

Stayed here a couple of times now, can't really complain. Lovely park, car park is quiet from 8pm until 8am. The odd car comes and goes until about midnight. Will stay here again

Nice Quiet Car Park, good night sleep. Ideal for The Theatre which I went too. I paid for all day once I was awake, as want to have a wander in the Town today. Car park got quite busy but fine for me as only have a small van so I neatly tucked myself into a corner.

We stayed here 1 night and the toilets were locked the entire time period (around 1pm Fri to 11am Sat). We found other public toilets in the park which were open during the day. Other than that great park up, nice and quiet but close to lots of shops/pubs and a walk around the park.

  • 4/5

Great find, close walk to the bars, restaurants and shops. We parked up in our 6m long van, not suitable for longer Motorhomes, quite busy at first as there was an event on at the Pavilion, car park empty by 10pm, quiet night, left just before 8am, moved the van onto the street, to have a wonder round Buxton. As previously mentioned no facilities, nice clean toilets open from 8am to 6pm.

Parked up last night after 6pm and it's completely free until 8am. No bother of an evening, there were a few cars around until just gone 9 as people leave the gym. Had a lovely morning stroll with the dog straight from the door. Very short walk into Buxton for dinner. No facilities if arriving after 6pm

Busy car park in the day. Definitely not big enough for a MWB or LWB van. Worth checking the adjoining residential streets for free parking around the park.

  • 2/5

Fantastic location but we decided not to stop. They are only normal car sized spaces so there's a serious possibility you'll get boxed in or a car door would bump you as it was manically busy even on a weeknight. I can confirm you are allowed to stay though.

  • 5/5

lovely overnight parking free of charge. Toilets but locked at night. A lovely walk in the park for the dogs. Cafe when the pavilion is open. Definitely a good spot

  • 4/5

Good park up , free toilets , park on back row , we 7.6 meters , so back end over hang grass , keep clean and be respectful .

  • 5/5

Fantastic park up right by the Pavilion Gardens and a short walk into the lovely town. Gets very busy, even of an evening if there's a gig in town. We couldn't get in and all roads and other car parks full up, but came back early in morning (for Parkrun) and got in. Stayed all day and overnight with no issues. Very quiet considering location. Free after 6pm to 8am, £5.40 for 10 hours. Great spot.

Great site, public car parking within lovely Buxton Park, quiet and safe, stayed two nights with no issue at all, great nights uninterrupted sleep. Free from 6pm till 8am, with pay and display after these hours, just £2.10 for two hours. Authorised parking for up-to 3500kg vehicles. Good location, few mins walk to town with lots of good pubs and restaurants. No facilities. Highly recommend

  • 4/5

Overall a good place to park overnight. No toilet facilities open untill 8am. Nice view if parked on lower level facing the park. As with other reviews more cars arrived from 6am onwards. Felt safe while staying over. Weatherspoons and town near by.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay. No problems. Close to town centre and a great park for a walk. Traffic noise started about 6am but not that bad. I would recommend staying here. It is worth noting there is a maximum weight limit of 3500kg.

  • 4/5

It was a busy car park so we parked at another car park and went back at 7pm we found a space - became quiet at 10pm ish and no one was any bother. the park is lovely, the toilets shut at about 5pm so need your own facilities.

  • 5/5

Cracking nights stay here with no bother . Fantastic park behind you .easy access to town.
